About us

An accounting firm in Turin, with one person who answers

DETAX is the practice of Babici Simone, Esperto Contabile (a qualified accountant) registered with the Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili di Torino, and an authorised Centro Raccolta Dati (data collection centre) of CAF CGN. We work at via Sant'Antonino 52, in the Pozzo Strada neighbourhood.

We handle tax returns and the ISEE (the family means-test indicator) for families, employees and pensioners; VAT-registered workers, from opening the partita IVA to everyday bookkeeping; companies, from the annual accounts to the filings that come round every year. And everything around them: your home, inheritances, social security contributions, tax demands you need to make sense of.

We have no front desk open to the public: we work by appointment, at the office, by phone or on a video call, in Italian, English or Romanian, so if you have moved to Turin from abroad you can go through each step in a language you know. The quickest way to find out whether we can help is to call and ask.

Our services in Turin

Accounting, VAT numbers and tax returns: three areas, one firm

Individuals, VAT-registered workers and companies have different rules and deadlines. In Turin we look after all three with the same method: documents requested only once, the cost stated before we start, every filing marked in the calendar.

As a Centro Raccolta Dati of CAF CGN we prepare the 730 form and the income tax return Redditi Persone Fisiche (formerly Unico) for employees, pensioners and families in Turin: checking the documents, entering the deductions, filing. We also handle the inheritance tax return, land registry transfers and the ISEE.

Partita IVA and flat-rate scheme in Turin

We open your partita IVA with the ATECO code (business activity code) and the tax scheme that suit your work, then look after it all year: electronic invoicing, INPS contributions (the national social security institute), F24 payments and the tax return. Under the flat-rate scheme (regime forfettario) we check the revenue threshold and the exclusion rules every year.

Tax return

730 or Redditi PF? It depends on who you are, not on what you prefer

The 730 is only for people with employment or pension income: the refund or the balance due goes through your payslip, with no wait for the Agenzia delle Entrate (the Italian Revenue Agency). The Redditi Persone Fisiche (Redditi PF) form is for people with a partita IVA, business or self-employment income, or assets held abroad.

It is not a matter of preference: it is a condition set by your own position. Some situations allow either form, and there the choice comes down to how soon the refund arrives and which sections have to be completed.

Flat-rate scheme in Turin

The flat-rate scheme: the numbers to check before choosing it

The forfettario is a scheme with a single substitute tax: taxable income is not worked out from your actual costs but by applying the profitability coefficient of your ATECO code to your revenue. It makes things much simpler, but it does not suit everyone: people with high costs or large investments often pay less under ordinary accounting.

€85,000Limit on the previous year's revenue or fees for staying in the scheme
15%Substitute tax replacing IRPEF (income tax), local surcharges and IRAP on taxable income
5%Reduced rate for the first five years, if the new business requirements are met

Rough estimate under the flat-rate scheme

Choose your activity, enter the year's revenue and your pension fund: the estimate updates by itself. Useful if you are about to open a partita IVA in Turin and want a sense of scale.

Pension fund

The estimate

Gross taxable income€0
Estimated contributions€0
Estimated substitute tax€0
Roughly what is left€0

A rough estimate using the rates and coefficients in force. It does not take into account deductions, contribution reductions, local surcharges, actual expenses or any exclusion rules: your position needs checking on the actual facts.

Let's check it together

It usually works when

  • your business costs are low compared with your revenue
  • you work mainly with private clients, who do not deduct VAT
  • you are starting out and want to keep the paperwork light
  • your spending on employees and collaborators stays within the threshold set by law

Ordinary accounting is worth a look when

  • you have costs, stock or investments you cannot deduct under the flat-rate scheme
  • you invoice mainly businesses and the VAT you could reclaim is significant
  • you have large personal tax deductions, which cannot be used here
  • you are close to the threshold and risk leaving the scheme during the year
Amounts and rates refer to the rules currently in force: thresholds and exclusion rules are often adjusted by the annual budget laws and need checking again every year against your actual position.

How we work together

Four steps, with no surprises along the way

People who turn to an accounting firm for the first time often share the same worry: not knowing what will happen, what it will cost and what they will be asked for. The process below is the same for a tax return as for a company's bookkeeping: the time needed and the documents change, the way we proceed does not.

  1. Two armchairs and a small round table at the office, ready for the first meeting, with the blue city beyond the window

    First contact

We start with a conversation, at the office or on a video call, to understand what you really need: sometimes it is a single task, sometimes ongoing management, sometimes a doubt that can be cleared up in ten minutes. At this stage we need a little information, not documents: your tax position, what you have already done and what is worrying you.

  2. The desk under the lamplight, with the files ready for the quote

    The quote, before we start

The fee depends on three things: the type of task, the volume of documents to handle and the deadline by which it must be completed. We put these in writing and agree the figure before the work begins, so you know in advance what is included and what is not. If an unplanned task comes up during the year, we discuss it before doing it.

  3. The document files lined up on the desk, side by side

    Gathering the documents

You receive the list of what is needed before the appointment, so you avoid a second trip. You can bring the documents to the office or upload them online, whichever you prefer. If something is missing we tell you straight away and where to find it: many certificates can be downloaded from the cassetto fiscale (your online tax records) or the INPS portal without going to a counter.

  4. The open laptop on the office desk, next to the phone, for filing the case online

    Processing, filing and archiving

We prepare the case, go through it with you before filing and submit it online. Receipts and copies stay on file and are available when needed, for example when a bank or a public body asks for the paperwork for a past year. Before every payment you get a reminder, with the amount and the due date.

Through all four steps your point of contact stays the same: there is no office passing requests around and you never have to explain your situation again to different people. It is also why the number of clients we take on stays in proportion to the time actually available.

The firm

Babici Simone, Esperto Contabile in Turin

Registered with the Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili di Torino (the professional body of accountants in Turin), Section B, number 94, and in charge of a Centro Raccolta Dati of CAF CGN. This double role is what defines the firm: the tax assistance families need every year and ongoing work for VAT-registered workers and companies.

If you come in for a 730 and later decide to go self-employed, you do not have to change your point of contact, and if you run a business you will find someone at the same firm who can handle a family inheritance. The number of clients stays in line with the time available: that is what makes it possible to really answer when you need it.

Areas we serve

Turin and the metropolitan area

The office is at via Sant'Antonino 52, in Turin, and is not open to the public: visits are by appointment only. For most matters you do not need to travel anyway, because documents, signatures and meetings can be handled by phone or on a video call. Clients come mainly from the neighbourhoods of Turin and the towns of the inner ring.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before booking

How much does a 730 at the CAF cost?

The cost depends on the type of return and the number of documents to process. We tell you the figure when you book, before we start.

Which documents do I need for the ISEE?

ID and codice fiscale (Italian tax code) for everyone in the household, year-end and average balances of all accounts at 31 December two years earlier, details of property and vehicles. The full checklist is in the dedicated guide.

Can I change accountant in the middle of the year?

Yes. It takes a takeover letter and the handover of the accounting records: we deal with it, you sign. The dedicated page explains the timing and the documents.

Do you also work with people who have only just opened a partita IVA?

Yes, and it is the moment when a wrong choice costs the most: the tax scheme, the ATECO code and the pension fund are all decided at opening.

Can everything be done remotely?

Almost everything. Documents, invoices and signatures travel online and appointments can be held on a video call. For the CAF, some procedures require you to attend in person.
